Reel Resizer: Convert Video to 9:16, 1:1 or 4:5

9:16, 1:1 or 4:5

Convert a video to a vertical Reel, a square or a 4:5 feed post. Crop to fill or fit with a blurred background.

This tool is available on the paid plans (Creator, Pro and Studio). It does not use tool credits.

Turn any video into a vertical 9:16 Reel or Short (1080 x 1920), a 1:1 square (1080 x 1080) or a 4:5 feed post (1080 x 1350). Crop to fill the screen, or keep the whole picture on a blurred copy of itself.

How it works

The resizer uses FFmpeg. Crop to fill scales the video until it covers the frame and crops the extra, and you can move the crop window left, right, up or down. Fit keeps the full picture inside the frame and fills the empty space with a blurred, darkened copy of the same video. The result is an H.264 and AAC MP4 and its size and length are checked before you can download it.

Steps

  1. Sign in and make sure you are on a paid plan (Creator, Pro or Studio).
  2. Open Reel Resizer and choose your video.
  3. Pick 9:16, 1:1 or 4:5, then crop to fill or blurred fit.
  4. Press Resize video and download the MP4.

Who it is for

  • Creators posting the same video as a Reel, a Short and a feed post
  • Anyone with a landscape video who needs a vertical version
  • Teams who need a consistent size for several platforms

Limits and pricing

  • This tool is available on the paid plans (Creator, Pro and Studio). The Free plan cannot use it.
  • Video tools (Video Trimmer, Reel Resizer and Cover Maker share one allowance): Creator 40 uses per month, Pro 80, Studio 200.
  • It does not use tool credits or clipper minutes, and no AI is involved.
  • Upload an MP4, MOV or WebM video, up to 10 minutes long. Your result is kept for 60 minutes so you can download it, then it is deleted.
  • Output is always 1080 pixels wide; small videos are scaled up, so they will not look sharper. The video is re-encoded, so longer videos take longer to process, especially when the server is busy.

Frequently asked questions

What sizes does it make?

9:16 is 1080 x 1920, 1:1 is 1080 x 1080 and 4:5 is 1080 x 1350.

What is the difference between fill and fit?

Fill crops the video so it covers the whole frame (you choose which part stays). Fit shows the whole video and fills the leftover space with a blurred copy of the picture.

Does it keep the audio?

Yes. The audio is kept and encoded as AAC. The length of the video does not change.

Is this tool free?

No. This tool is available on the paid plans (Creator, Pro and Studio). The Free plan cannot use it. See the pricing page for plans. It does not use tool credits or clipper minutes, and no AI is involved.

How many times can I use it?

Each finished file counts as one use and the allowance resets on your billing date. Video tools (Video Trimmer, Reel Resizer and Cover Maker share one allowance): Creator 40 uses per month, Pro 80, Studio 200. A job that fails is not counted.

What happens to my video after processing?

The upload is deleted as soon as the file is processed. The result is available to you only, for 60 minutes, and then it is deleted automatically.

Which file formats can I upload?

MP4, MOV and WebM, up to 10 minutes per file. The result is an MP4 (the cover maker also accepts JPG, PNG and WebP images and exports PNG or JPG).
