Online Video Trimmer: Cut the Start and End of a Video
Cut the start and end of a video
Choose a start and end time and download the trimmed MP4. Lossless when the cut allows it.
This tool is available on the paid plans (Creator, Pro and Studio). It does not use tool credits.
Upload a video, choose a start and an end time, and download the trimmed MP4. When the cut starts on a keyframe the video is copied without re-encoding, so it is instant and has no quality loss. Otherwise it is re-encoded for a frame-accurate cut.
How it works
The trimmer uses FFmpeg on our server. In the default mode it first checks whether your start time falls on a keyframe of an H.264 MP4 or MOV; if so it copies the existing streams (lossless and very fast). If not, or if you pick the frame-accurate mode, it re-encodes the cut to H.264 and AAC so the first frame is exactly where you asked. The output is verified to have the right length before you can download it.
Steps
- Sign in and make sure you are on a paid plan (Creator, Pro or Studio).
- Open Video Trimmer and choose your video.
- Type the start and end time (seconds like 12.5 or minutes like 1:02.5), or play the preview and press "Set start/end here".
- Press Trim video and download the MP4.
Who it is for
- Creators who need to cut the dead air from the start or end of a clip
- Anyone who wants a quick lossless cut without opening an editor
- People who prepare clips before using the AI clipper or captions
Limits and pricing
- This tool is available on the paid plans (Creator, Pro and Studio). The Free plan cannot use it.
- Video tools (Video Trimmer, Reel Resizer and Cover Maker share one allowance): Creator 40 uses per month, Pro 80, Studio 200.
- It does not use tool credits or clipper minutes, and no AI is involved.
- Upload an MP4, MOV or WebM video, up to 10 minutes long. Your result is kept for 60 minutes so you can download it, then it is deleted.
- Fast mode can only stay lossless when your start time is on a keyframe; otherwise it re-encodes, which takes longer and is very slightly lossy. A cut is at least 0.5 seconds long.
Frequently asked questions
How do I trim a video online?
Upload the video, enter the start and end time, and press Trim video. You download an MP4 with only that part.
Is the trim lossless?
Often, yes. If your start time is on a keyframe of an H.264 MP4 or MOV, the streams are copied without re-encoding. If not, the video is re-encoded so the cut is frame-accurate, with a very small quality loss.
Is this tool free?
No. This tool is available on the paid plans (Creator, Pro and Studio). The Free plan cannot use it. See the pricing page for plans. It does not use tool credits or clipper minutes, and no AI is involved.
How many times can I use it?
Each finished file counts as one use and the allowance resets on your billing date. Video tools (Video Trimmer, Reel Resizer and Cover Maker share one allowance): Creator 40 uses per month, Pro 80, Studio 200. A job that fails is not counted.
What happens to my video after processing?
The upload is deleted as soon as the file is processed. The result is available to you only, for 60 minutes, and then it is deleted automatically.
Which file formats can I upload?
MP4, MOV and WebM, up to 10 minutes per file. The result is an MP4 (the cover maker also accepts JPG, PNG and WebP images and exports PNG or JPG).
